Prof. Dr. Astrid Séville
Astrid Séville is Professor of Political Science, in particular Political Theory, at Leuphana University Lüneburg since October 2023. From 2022 to 2023, she was Deputy Professor of Political Theory and Philosophy at the School of Politics at TU Munich, and in 2022 she also held the Sir Peter Ustinov Visiting Professorship of the City of Vienna at the University of Vienna. Prior to this, she was a temporary academic councillor at the Chair of Political Theory at the Geschwister Scholl Institute for Political Science at LMU.
She studied Political Science, Romance Studies and Historical Anthropology at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg and at the Université Denis Diderot Paris.
She researches and teaches political theory, populism and democratic opposition, political communication, social transformation and inclusion processes, institutions and governance architectures as well as technocratic discourses.
