About Marcus Böick
Marcus Böick has been an academic councilor (ret.) at the Institute of History at the Ruhr University Bochum since 2017. He studied history, political science, sociology and social psychology and was a doctoral fellow at the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship in Berlin. In 2017, he published a study on the memory of the Treuhandanstalt on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economics. In 2018, his doctoral dissertation was published by Göttingen Wallstein Verlag (“Die Treuhand: Idee – Praxis – Erfahrung”). He is currently working on a project on the history of private security companies in the 20th century.
