Manuela Barišić has been working as Head of Strategic Development at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) since September 2022. She studied economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne, with a stay abroad at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining IZA, she most recently worked as a Senior Project Manager and Head of the Bertelsmann Stiftung’s labor market policy project “Employment in Transition”. In this role, she worked with leading economic research institutes and academics to analyze inequalities and polarization trends in the German labor market and formulate reform proposals to strengthen good and socially secure employment and thus an inclusive labor market.
