Juliusz Gastev

Intern

Juliusz is an intern in the Resilient Democracy department. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in Potsdam and Lille. During his studies, he worked at the Brandenburg State Parliament, during the 2021 federal election campaign, and at the Bundestag for the SPD. He then completed his Master’s in Political Science at Leiden University in the Netherlands. His research interests focus on democratic institutions in an international comparison, the global development of democracies, backsliding/autocratization, and the related question of how democracies can become more steadfast and resilient against autocratic and populist movements.
