Francesca Weber-Newth

Francesca Weber-Newth is a British-German urban sociologist and former NUP Fellow of Das Progressive Zentrum. She is responsible for public participation in the redevelopment of Tempelhof Airport. In independent projects she works on social justice in urban space and collaborates with architects, urban planners and designers. Past projects include the book Community Lover’s Guide to Berlin (2013), the newspaper supplement Picturing the Wick (2013), and the documentary film Mauerpark Berlin (2010). Her academic background includes a PhD on urban regeneration in Berlin and London, research and teaching at the Geography department of the Humboldt University Berlin. Her book The Game of Urban Regeneration was published in 2019.
