Mariam Ghebregergis

Intern

Mariam is an intern at Green New Deal International. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Technical University of Dresden. During her studies, she focused on global economic relations, sustainable development, and international migration processes. She gained practical experience in these fields as a student assistant at the Mercator Forum for Migration and Democracy (MIDEM), where she contributed to research projects on societal polarization and migration-related discourses in Europe. She later completed an international volunteer service with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Tunis, where she supported academic cooperation and education initiatives in the North African region. Her work is driven by a particular interest in the question of how global sustainability policies can be designed in a socially just way – especially in light of the interconnections between environmental issues, migration, and economic transformation.

We develop and debate progressive ideas and bring together leading actors who turn thoughts into action. Our think tank’s goal: making the just transformation a reality. ▸ Learn more
