Julia Reuschenbach

Policy Fellow

Julia Reuschenbach is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg. Previously, she was a research associate at the Unit for Political Sociology of the Federal Republic of Germany at the Otto Suhr Institute of Political Science at the Free University of Berlin, as well as a research associate at the University of Bonn, where she received her doctorate in 2022. Her research and teaching focus on parties, elections, democracy, and political communication. In 2024, the book “Defekte Debatten. Warum wir als Gesellschaft besser streiten müssen” (“Defective Debates: Why We as a Society Need to Argue Better”), which she co-authored with journalist Korbinian Frenzel, was published by Suhrkamp Verlag. With her expertise, she is a regular interview partner for major public media outlets such as Deutschlandfunk, ZDF, Caren Miosga, and in the podcasts Politik mit Anne Will and Lage der Nation. Julia Reuschenbach is a Policy Fellow at the Das Progressive Zentrum.
