Second #EuropeanTownHall Meeting in Warsaw
On 12 February 2018, Das Progressive Zentrum together with the Ferdinand Lassalle Centre for Social Thought will host the second #EuropeanTownHall Meeting in Warsaw.
The conference will focus on the challenges faced by democracy in Europe, in particular, emerging populism and the potential of democratic innovations. Young people, academics as well as civil society actors from Poland and Germany are invited to join the event and take part in a lively and inspiring debate.
The event kicks of with two parallel discussion sessions on populism and democratic innovations. Afterwards, Manuel Sarrazin, member of the German parliament and Vice-Chairman of the Polish-German Parliamentary Group will debate with the participants. Kaja Puto, author and journalist of Krytyka Polityczna, will moderate the discussion. The conference will be concluded by Paul Mason, British writer, broadcaster and journalist.
The event is part of #DialogueOnEurope project, a two-year transnational process with young, promising thinkers and activists from around Europe. After successful mirror meetings in Greece, Portugal, Italy, France, Spain and the UK, the first Polish-German Town Hall Meeting kicked-off in December 2016, addressing the future of Europe via a bilateral dialogue.
The event is supported by The Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation and the German Federal Foreign Office.
