She named the key challenges of a new three-party coalition and ventured a forecast on the development of German politics. In the French newspaper&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/monde\/europe\/allemagne-sept-questions-autour-du-prochain-gouvernement-1349833\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Les Echo<\/a>, Anke also commented on the role of the FDP and its fiscal policy positions in a possible coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/orf.at\/stories\/3229244\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ORF&nbsp;<\/a><strong>Sophie Pornschlegel<\/strong>, political analyst and policy fellow at Das Progressive Zentrum, summed up the Merkel years from a European perspective:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Merkel is a crisis manager with a pragmatic and calm style. A good negotiator and always eager to find solutions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, Merkel has also made enemies in her stance on Nord Stream 2. On the Euro and migration issues, Sophie noted: \u201cSome Greeks, Italians and Spaniards will also be pleased that Merkel is now stepping down.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newstatesman.com\/german-election-2021\/2021\/09\/german-election-2021-live-results-and-analysis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The New Statesman<\/a>, editor&nbsp;<strong>Jeremy Cliffe<\/strong>&nbsp;published, live from the Big Election Night, a commentary as well as his analysis of the election results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Policy Fellow&nbsp;<strong>Sabrina Schulz<\/strong>&nbsp;also commented on the election on Sky News UK. Furthermore, an interview with Managing Director,&nbsp;<strong>Dominic Schwickert<\/strong>, appeared in the Spanish newspaper&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.larazon.es\/internacional\/20210927\/tz6yefd5b5cppisvlyymqbjbpy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">La RAZON<\/a>, and Scientific Advisory Board members&nbsp;<strong>Wolfgang Merkel<\/strong>&nbsp;and<strong>&nbsp;Anke Hassel<\/strong>&nbsp;commented in the Spanish&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.niusdiario.es\/internacional\/europa\/alemanes-no-votan-tanto-los-verdes-annalena-baerbock_18_3209595024.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NIUS<\/a>&nbsp;and in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wiwo.de\/politik\/deutschland\/bundestagswahl-mit-diesen-zahlen-wird-politik-gemacht\/27538982.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Week UK&nbsp;<\/a>($).
