Drei Organisationen kommen f\u00fcr ein Projekt zusammen, um mit vereinten Kr\u00e4ften und im Sinne des transatlantischen Dialogs Innovationen im urbanen Raum zu f\u00f6rdern und die Demokratie zu revitalisieren.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Projekt \u201cNew Urban Progress: Transatlantischer Dialog \u00fcber die Zukunft der Arbeit, Demokratie und Wohlergehen der Gesellschaft\u201d<\/em> ist gestartet. Zwei L\u00e4nder, zwei Reisen, vier Konferenzen, zehn St\u00e4dte und 20 Programm Fellows \u2013 Dies alles soll uns dabei dienen, unsere transatlantischen Beziehungen neu zu denken und in kollaborativer Zusammenarbeit Policies voranzubringen, die f\u00fcr St\u00e4dte auf beiden Seiten des Atlantiks positive Auswirkungen haben werden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das New Urban Progress<\/em> Projekt wird Ballungsr\u00e4ume vergleichend untersuchen, die sich zu Zentren f\u00fcr \u00f6ffentliche Innovation und das Erarbeiten kollaborativer L\u00f6sungsans\u00e4tze entwickelt haben. Die daraus resultierenden Erkenntnisse bilden den Rahmen f\u00fcr den Aufbau von St\u00e4dten, die inklusiv, innovativ, digital und vielf\u00e4ltig sind. Die vorausgehende Arbeit setzt auf Dialog: Wir wollen junge Deutsche und US-AmerikanerInnen ins Gespr\u00e4ch bringen \u00fcber aktuelle soziale, kulturelle und \u00f6konomische Ph\u00e4nomene, die sich in allen post-industriellen und multikulturellen Gesellschaften wiederfinden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diese Aufgabe k\u00f6nnte nicht dringlicher sein. Sowohl die USA als auch Europa erleben eine Zunahme an illiberalen und populistischen Str\u00f6mungen. Diese erfordern eine mutige, kreative und kollaborative Reaktion. Wir sind davon \u00fcberzeugt, dass St\u00e4dten eine stets wachsende Bedeutung als global-politische Akteure zukommt, da sie dazu in der Lage sind, wichtige Antworten auf gesellschaftliche Herausforderungen zu geben, den transatlantischen Dialog zu revitalisieren und ein urbanes Zusammenleben zu gestalten, an dem alle teilhaben k\u00f6nnen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

F\u00fcr diese dreij\u00e4hrige Initiative haben sich Das Progressive Zentrum, die Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft in Deutschland und das Progressive Policy Institute in den USA zusammengeschlossen. Das Projekt wurde durch das Transatlantik-Programm der Bundesrepublik Deutschland aus Mitteln des European Recovery Program (ERP) des Bundesministeriums f\u00fcr Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) gef\u00f6rdert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
