Therefore, the Dialogue on Europe brought together representatives of the young civil society with parliamentarians and experts from the UK and Germany. Among the guests were Thomas Oppermann, Gloria de Piero, Martin Roth, James Graham and Sonia Sodha. Together, they discussed the future of British-European relations.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the 27th of February 2017, the German think tank <a href=\"https:\/\/www.progressives-zentrum.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Das Progressive Zentrum<\/a>, in cooperation with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.policy-network.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Policy Network<\/a>\u00a0and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.auswaertiges-amt.de\/EN\/Startseite_node.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Foreign Office<\/a> held a European Town Hall Meeting in London, discussing how to restart Britain and Europe. These summaries, as well as the inputs by the speakers, enabled a comprehensive discussion on the future of British-European relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Martin Roth<\/strong>, who was back to London for the first time since he resigned from his position as Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum, opened his speech asking:\u00a0<em>\u201eHow can people forget the tragedies of the past?\u201c<\/em> and explained: <em>\u201eDon\u2019t mention the war, they say. But especially for young Brits, the result of the vote came as a wake-up call: <em>\u201eBrexit was a vote against diversity\u201c<\/em>, one attendee said.
