Clever minds, new input: We are happy to welcome four new Fellows, two Scientific Advisory Board Members and reinforcement to our office team. Among them are new faces and old acquaintances of our progressive network.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sophie Pornschlegel<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0currently works as a Senior Policy Analyst at the European Policy Centre (EPC) and as a Project Manager for Connecting Europe, a joint initiative of the EPC and Stiftung Mercator. From 2017 to 2019, she was Project Manager in the programme \u201cFuture of Democracy\u201d and is now back at Das Progressive Zentrum as a Policy Fellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lucie Kretschmer\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>supports the DPZ as a Visiting Fellow in the area \u201cFuture of Democracy\u201d in questions of religious politics and social plurality. She is doing her doctorate at the Humboldt University of Berlin on Federal Constitutional Court cases on Islamic freedom of religion and is a Heinrich B\u00f6ll Stiftung Fellow. Previously, Lucie Kretschmer worked as a managing director in the area of international relations and as a manager of a foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since July 2020,\u00a0Oph\u00e9lie Omnes<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has been a Visiting Fellow in the \u201cInternational Dialogue\u201d programme. At DPZ, she wants to contribute to the Franco-German friendship and strengthen a joint European public sphere. She is President of the French Section of the European Federalists and works full-time as a lawyer for French and European litigation and public affairs at Alinea Avocats Associ\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. <\/strong><\/a>Claudia <\/a><\/strong>C. Gatzka<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0works as a Visiting Fellow in the \u201cFuture of Democracy\u201d programme, where she focuses on political campaign cultures. Together with Andreas Audretsch, she published\u00a0a book on the political history of the so-called \u201cNew Right\u201d<\/a>\u00a0(DE). She is an author and historian at the University of Freiburg and deals with the history of democracy, political communication and participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New members of the Academic Council<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are happy to welcome\u00a0Erika Mezger<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Peter Siller<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to the Academic Council. Erika Mezger works as a Senior Adviser on Social Dialogue, Employment Relations & Welfare Reforms in the \u201cSocial Europe and Well-being Programme\u201d at the European Policy Center (EPC) in Brussels. Peter Siller had previously been a member of the Council of Friends of Das Progressive Zentrum.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two personnel changes on Werftstra\u00dfe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

She worked as a Project Assistant in the programme area \u201cInternational Dialogue\u201d, and now we are thrilled that\u00a0Gesche-Maren Siems<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will continue to support us as an Assistant to the Management.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lukas Schwemer<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has made a major contribution to the communications work of the think tank as a Communications Assistant. In December, he will become an\u00a0Advisor.\u00a0Among other tasks, he will coordinate our activities for the 2021 German Federal Elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
