He studied history, political science, sociology and social psychology and was a doctoral fellow at the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship in Berlin. In 2017, he published a study on the memory of the Treuhandanstalt on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economics. In 2018, his doctoral dissertation was published by G\u00f6ttingen Wallstein Verlag (&#8220;Die Treuhand: Idee &#8211; Praxis &#8211; Erfahrung&#8221;).
