Juliet Schor is professor of sociology at Boston College, US. She studies trends in working time, consumerism, the relationship between work and family, environmental sustainability, women’s issues and alternative, sustainable economies and societies. A graduate of Wesleyan University, Schor received her PhD in economics at the University of Massachusetts, both US. Before joining Boston College, she taught at Harvard University for 17 years in the Department of Economics; she served on the Committee on Degrees in Women’s Studies. Schor is a co-founder of the South End Press, the Center for Popular Economics and the Center for a New American Dream. She is also the vice chair of the board of the Better Future Project.
