Why progressive?

• To tap the full potential of our society by unlocking all talents which are currenty being wasted in Germany.
  
  
• To enable people to cope with the challenges of today's rapidly changing world by creating opportunities for all – in particular through lifelong education and the access to first-class public services.
  
  
• To get beyond a debate which sees the individual, the state and the market in conflict but rather create policy spaces in which the state and the market work hand in hand to increase opportunity and prosperity for both the individual and society.

Our society needs nothing more urgent than renewed confidence, new social cohesion and, above all, the courage for change. Therefore we need new thinking and reformed institutions. That's why we need a progressive agenda.
