Call for applications: Workshop on how to renew the European UnionYoung professionals, experts and activists are invited to apply for Transnational Reflection Group in Bratislava on 29-30 November
We are looking for six young European thinkers, professionals and activists to join a workshop in Bratislava on 29-30 November 2018 to draft recommendations for the renewal of the European Union.
We often hear that “Brussels is too far away” from the EU citizens: the turnout of the European Parliament elections is low, nationalist populism and Euroscepticism are on the rise. What to do? How to enhance citizens’ understanding of the EU, broaden ownership of the European project and build trust in the European structures?
Within the EUact project we aim to encourage active engagement of citizens in the decision-making process and offer bottom-up recommendations to EU policymakers by conducting focus group interviews, organising public debates as well as drafting policies and practical solutions with young leaders’ involvement.
Currently, we are looking for six young European thinkers, professionals and activists to join a workshop in Bratislava on 29-30 November 2018 to draft recommendations for the renewal of the European Union. The workshop’s ideas will contribute to the final report “European Elections and Beyond” which will be presented and hand-delivered to relevant EU policymakers in Brussels in the fall of 2019. If you:
- are passionate about the EU and have ideas on how to make a positive change,
- communicate fluently in English,
- are 18-35 years old,
- are a citizen of one of the 28 EU Member States or Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia
then join the Transnational Reflection Group to exchange your ideas on how to reform the European Union!
We welcome applications from people of different backgrounds and experiences. The selection process will be based on the information and inputs provided in the form above and their relevance for the topic of the foreseen workshop. Your travel and accommodation costs will be covered fully.
Please apply until October 21, 2018. The jury’s decision will be announced on October 29, 2018.
This call is part of a project “EP Elections and Beyond: Active Participation of EU citizens at All Levels”.
