Benedikt Weingärtner

Team

Project Manager at ‚Das Progressive Zentrum‘. He studied in Regensburg, Clermont-Ferrand, Eichstätt, Lisbon, and Bruges. Benedikt holds a Bachelor’s degree in German-French Studies, a Master’s degree in International Relations and a post-graduate Master’s degree in EU International Relations & Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe. Expertise in EU and global trade affairs, Geo-economics as well as European Foreign and Security Policy. He gained practical experience at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs in Berlin, the Office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Lisbon, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Casablanca as well as at the two Representations of the State of Bavaria in Brussels and Montréal. Benedikt has been mainly involved in the operationalization of ‘Dialogue on Europe’ since the very beginning of the project but is currently also working on other European projects at ‘Das Progressive Zentrum’.

After successful Town Hall Meetings in Athens, Lisbon, Rome and Marseilles the fifth and last event within the Dialogue on Europe took place in Madrid, on 16 June 2016. Once again representatives from civil society, NGOs, local initiatives, startups, think tanks, the cultural sector and from the media gathered to discuss the most pressing challenges Spain and Europe are currently facing and exchanged ideas about how to work towards a strengthened and progressive Europe.
